August 24, 2010 Contact:	Don Browne 262.754.6910 dbrowne@offpriceshow.com

OFFPRICE Show a Big Hit in its New Home at The Sands!

Delegates Revel in New Venue, Engage in healthy order-writing despite tighter budgets

With 128 more booths than last year’s show, and 46 new exhibitors, the recent August OFFPRICE Show proved once again to be a vibrant marketplace of great deals for retailers in a struggling economy. But perhaps the greatest feature for the 10,000+ was the show’s new home in the grand stage of The Sands Expo & Convention Center.

“High ceilings, fabulous lights, all the vendors were happy, and the buyers couldn’t be happier!” said OFFPRICE Executive Vice President David Lapidos. “It was very gratifying to receive feedback from EVERYONE on how much they love our new home. Many of the buyers are now calling us ‘The Promotional MAGIC!’”

This show’s buying delegation, more than ever, was focused on best prices, and OFFPRICE vendors delivered en masse as evidenced by active order-writing with buyers.

“I had the greatest first day ever,” said Andy Shamsi, whose company, Cosmo Trading in New York, has been exhibiting for 10 years. “And my second day was even better.”

While Shamsi did most of his order-writing with existing customers, many conducted business with new buyers. “I had a large retailer from Canada take a majority of stock from one of our brands,” said Peter Gardner of Mizrahi-Gardner in LA. “And on the last day, I wrote a very nice order with a buyer from Guam.”

International interest in OFFPRICE continues to flourish, with over 400 buyers in attendance, including chains from Canada, Mexico and as far away as New Zealand – all buying product. Domestically, the largest off price and discount retailers were well represented at the show, but it is the smaller independent operators that constitute the most growth in the OFFPRICE buyer community.

“I gained some new vendors that I am very pleased with at this show, and I’m already registered for (A TASTE OF) OFFPRICE in LA (in October) to seek out more deals on trendy goods for my urban boutique,” asserted Rosa Jones of Diamond Girl in Homestead, Florida.

“It was a fun experience, as well as a great resource for my business,” new buyer Jerry Leehan of N&S Sports Memorabilia in Plainfield, MA reviewed. “I met some great connections and purchased some great apparel. I will be attending next year for sure.”

“We enjoy enormous support from the national chains,” claims Lapidos, “But we also help the little guys grow their businesses. They can’t compete with the Wal-Marts on price, but (through OFFPRICE) they can put in better -recognized merchandise at a lower price. And that’s what buyers need to fight the big boxes.”

Speaking of big boxes, over 400 “Founders Club” members representing the largest chains came open to buy at the August OFFPRICE. The spacious accommodations and greater ease of access to the vendors were conducive to helping them fill immediate needs, and they responded with active order-writing.

“The venue was great,” reported Daniel Melendez, Owner of Portland Merchandise in New York. “There were wider aisles, more room for our buyers to meet, and we felt very comfortable. Our buyers were quite satisfied. They weren’t looking for anything in particular, but found great values.”

“The cost of manufacturing overseas is resulting in tighter inventories,” commented Lapidos. “It’s rewarding to know that the big guys can count on us as a great alternative for their buying needs.”

The next OFFPRICE event – A TASTE OF OFFPRICE – will be held October 4, 5 & 6 at the California Market Center during LA Majors Market.

Xeikon and Labelexpo Global Series announce close cooperation to grow label market

Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, is delighted to announce that it has entered in a
partnership with the Labelexpo Global Series, the international organizer of
labeling and package printing events. As part of the partnership, Xeikon will
attend all Labelexpo events worldwide including exhibitions in Europe, the
Americas and Asia. The company will also participate in all Label Summits, a series of educational conferences dedicated to the labeling
industry. Together, Xeikon and Labelexpo aim to develop growth in the label
market through innovative products – developed specifically for the market. Creative
communication will help printers and converters worldwide gain a better
understanding of the benefits of digital technology for label printing.

“Last year’s Labelexpo Europe won the AEO’s ‘Marketing Campaign of the
Year’ award,” comments Wim Maes, CEO of Punch Graphix. “The judges cited the campaign as innovative,
flexible and enticing - taking the subject matter and making it interesting and
fully engaging with the audience. This kind of creativity is one of the reasons
why we have partnered with Labelexpo. Combined with their solid understanding
of the label market, long-term commitment and global presence, Labelexpo will
be a valuable marketing partner for us - today and for the years ahead.”

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with such a
strong force in the digital printing industry,” says Roger Pellow, Labelexpo
Managing Director. “With Xeikon’s focus and dedication to the labeling industry
– combined with the global reach of Labelexpo – we will be able to bring
knowledge and innovative solutions to a wider audience. The partnership
stimulates a continued support and development for this exciting industry.”

Printing solutions built for
labeling

Xeikon is one of the pioneers of digital color printing technology for
the professional printing market. Its commitment to the label industry began in
1996 when the company launched the world’s first digital color press dedicated
to label printing. Since then, Xeikon has continued to lead the label market
with a continuous stream of innovative solutions dedicated to the needs of this
rapidly growing market. Its award- winning Xeikon 3300, released in 2008,
represented a quantum leap forward in image quality, speed and reliability.
This was followed in 2010 with the release of the Xeikon 3500 which delivers
productivity gains almost twice those of its closest competitors.

During its process of continuous innovation, Xeikon evolved from
developing best-of-breed digital printers to delivering total label printing
solutions. These innovations include the introduction of the world's first
dedicated toner for the label and packaging market. This toner is in line with
the FDA regulations for the use in direct and indirect food contact
applications and has a wider color gamut and vastly improved light fastness. Recognizing
that finishing is an integral part of the printing process, Xeikon also offers
a fully integrated D-coat finishing line with all its printers. To offer a full
package solution, the company cooperates with leading substrate suppliers to
guarantee their products work seamlessly together.

World’s leading events for label
printing industry

The Labelexpo Global Series, like Xeikon, has a strong
commitment to the worldwide label industry. The exhibitions and summits organized
by Labelexpo are the world's leading events for the label printing industry. The
exhibitions take place in Chicago (USA), Brussels (Europe), Shanghai (China)
and Delhi (India) and provide a platform for manufacturers of printing
machinery and materials to showcase their products and technologies. The
educational aspect of the Labelexpo Series is represented by Label Summits,
which take place in Mexico City, São Paulo, Barcelona and Tokyo.

Thriving Digital Label Summit takes place for the second time in Barcelona

The
second Digital Label Summit took place last month at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos
I in Barcelona. Attracting 213 delegates from all over Europe and beyond, the
expanded summit has has continued to get a large amount of positive feedback
from label industry representatives who gathered to hear from cross-section of
international experts about the latest developments in digital package and
label printing.

Following
the success of the event last year, it was decided to hold this summit again
following the increase in expectations from the package printing and label
industry for this technology. The summit this year had a much stronger focus on
the direction that digital solutions and applications will take in the future.
With new generations of fully-integrated digital presses and high added-value
conventional/digital in-line combination presses evolving, as well as an
explosion in inkjet technology, the interest regarding these latest advances in
the label and packaging sectors is growing considerably. The summit reviewed
the latest developments and applications in integrated, in-line and stand alone
toner and UV-curable inkjet presses for self-adhesive, shrink sleeve and heat
transfer labels, flexible packaging, cartons, pouches and tubes.

The
conference played host to industry experts speaking, putting forward case
studies and sitting on panels to explore new technologies and applications for
digital printing of labels, tickets/tags and flexible packaging.. Brand owners also
talked about their experience of digitally printed labels and packs and their
expectations for the future developments.

Conference
highlights included:

Digital web-fed printing –
state-of-the-art: Michael Fairley summarized the best tips and analysis
for digital technologies, solutions and markets and applications. Along
with Bob Leahey of Info Trends Inc. Michael gave the audience information
and solutions on how to implement the new technologies available

Advances in digital print technologies
and solutions: This session looked at performance – resolution, web
widths, colours, speed, environmental issues; combining materials, inks
and technology for optimum inkjet performance; and developing new markets
     and applications.

Consumables that influence quality and
performance: Kenneth D. Stack,EFI / Jetrion Industrial Inkjet
Systems, Christian Menegon, HP Indigo, Lode Deprez, Xeikon and
Adrian Lockwood looked at the nature and performance of digital inks, toners
and drying/curing systems and the use of coatings and varnishes taking the
     environment into consideration.

Benefitting the brand owner:
The session used a case study to demonstrate using digital technology to
enhance a brand with the speakers Christian Menegon, HP Indigo and Hans
     Poortinga, Heineken.

Overall
feedback from delegates indicated that the event proved to be the best place to
network and to learn about digital label trends from experts in the industry.
The summit gave a perfect overview about the digital topics for the future
giving label and packaging printers the knowledge to choose correctly on where
to invest and how to invest for their companies.

Roger
Pellow, Labelexpo Managing Director, said: “This second edition of the Digital
Label Summit has again been a success that digital really is an important part
of the future of the industry. The technologies have excelled over the last
year with a number of UV inkjet presses being launched and installed since the
last Digital Label Summit in 2009. it is clear that the industry’s interest and
demand for this technology will continue to grow at a very fast rate. We are
pleased to see established businesses embracing these new technologies and
seeing printers and brand owners alike expressing their interest in the
opportunities and advantages that printing labels and packaging digitally can
offer.”

Quotes
from exhibitors at Label Summit Latin America 2010:

Keith Montgomery, A B Graphic International Ltd said: “Due to the speed
at which digital technology is advancing, it is vital that we keep in touch
with the latest developments, and the recent Digital Label Summit in Barcelona
was a great opportunity to meet up with both equipment and consumable
manufactures, as well as customers to determine what direction the market is
taking, and what is required by the end users.
A B Graphic International as a leading supplier of digital finishing
equipment welcome events such as this, and find them a valuable source of
information.”

Peter Dhondt, Cerm – Business Automation Solutions
said:
“Business Automation was definitely a hot topic during this year’s Digital
Label Summit. It proves that Business Automation becomes an important aspect as
printing digitally impacts favorably on the back office. A digital workflow in
administration offers a lot of perspectives. The customer testimonials on stage
have clearly an added value in this. Many attendees congratulated us with these
sessions, although it were our customers telling about us, which is always the
best publicity. This explains why we obtained an interesting number of leads
out of this specific event.”

Dr Kenneth Stack, EFI Jetrion said: "The Digital Label
Summit in Barcelona was an extremely successful event for EFI. Our Jetrion
series of UV inkjet label presses received a great deal of interest from
visitors. We see more and more converters looking at digital technology as
a way to diversify their businesses and to cater to market trends of short
runs and variable data label printing. As an industry leader we were
excited to be part of this year’s educational user panels and look forward to
being part of next year’s Label Summit Latin America in Sao Paolo.”

Jan De Roeck, EskoArtwork said: "The Digital Label Summit proves again
to be a formula that works for industry vendors as well as production
companies: the dedicated attention to the actual challenges known in the
industry together with a great number of experts makes this to a unique and
valuable event. EskoArtwork
believes the industry has realized that "zooming out" from printing
or just the digital press to the entire and integrated digital production
chain is required in order
to be successful."

Anti-Aging certification urged for Middle East specialists

Media pack

The American Academy of Anti-Aging, (A4M) a not for profit organisation
committed to the education of physicians
to detect, prevent, and treat age-related diseases, has now launched a series
of anti-aging qualifications in the Middle East. These courses will train and
formally qualify physicians to delay the effects of aging.

Exam sessions (as part of the overall qualifications) are available to
take during the 3rd Dubai Congress on Anti-Aging and Aesthetic
Medicine (DCAAAM), the only A4M event in the Middle East, which takes place at
the Dubai World Trade Centre, from October 26 – 27 2010, with pre conference workshops held on October
25.

DCAAAM is the largest gathering of Middle Eastern physicians and international
anti-aging suppliers. It actively supports and encourages the continuing
education of physicians through its three-day scientific program, in addition
to the extensive training qualifications.

Due to anti-aging medicine being a relatively new medical field, it is
important that local physicians receive specialized training. This preparation
can ensure they have the theoretical and practical skills to help patients
improve their quality of life and health in later years.

There are a total of three qualifications available to study: ABAARM
(American Board of Anti-Aging Regenerative Medicine); the Fellowship in
Anti-Aging, Regenerative and Functional Medicine and ABAABP (American Board of Anti-Aging & Health
Practitioners). These qualifications cover all elements
of preventive anti-aging medicine from genomics to stem cells, nutritional
therapies and cancer prevention, bio-identical hormone therapies as well as
stress reduction and psychology. The Fellowship modules are now available to
study online to allow doctors to complete their training whilst continuing to work
in their practices.

As an optional module,
doctors can also now apply their theoretical knowledge from the Fellowship and
Board courses by completing an Applied Clinical Training, with Dr. Filippo
Ongaro, Board Certified in Anti-Aging Medicine and Regenerative (ABAARM) at
Ismerian, (Institute for Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine).

Ongaro said: “The Board Certification is especially helpful to my
patients because it represents a guarantee of excellence in this new branch of
medicine. In general universities are slow in adapting to new needs and
innovative scientific fields and so the Board acts as an international
institution, assuring that medical doctors wanting to practice anti-aging
medicine have an adequate level of knowledge. Anyone serious in this field
needs to be Board Certified.”

Fellowship Trained and Board Certified, said: “This training gave me the courage to switch my
practice from treating disease approved by third party payers to detecting
pre-disease conditions”

Servane Collette, A4M
Education Manager, commented “The A4M anti-aging training provides the unique
opportunity for physicians to formally demonstrate their commitment to
providing safe and evidence based anti-aging therapies, by guaranteeing a level
of professional knowledge. Whether it’s a
young physician looking to make anti-aging medicine their specialty, or a more
experienced physician looking to broaden and update their knowledge in the
newest areas of medicine, our qualifications will considerably enhance any physician’s
professional development. Patients can actively seek out these physicians’
services with the confidence that they are qualified to treat them”.

That’s not a fair analysis considering that we started later than usual (Aug 29- Sep 1/09) last year and we are opening much earlier (Aug 15-18) this year. Thus, our 5-11% range of increase accounts for 2009 dates as well as 2007 & 2008 openings (Aug 24 & Aug 23, respectively).”

Using this formula, new buyers attending the show is up 23-36% from last year, and the top retailers and “regular customers” will be in attendance for OFFPRICE’S inaugural in Halls A & B of The Sands.

“Everybody’s excited about moving upstairs,” said David Abbate, a buyer for Lady Rose Shops in West Hempstead, NY. Abbate has been attending OFFPRICE since it first opened in the hotel rooms of the old Debbie Reynolds in 1995, and remembers vividly when the show was held in tents outside the Sahara and Stardust. “Opening Fashion Week in the grand stage at The Sands where PROJECT AND (WWD)MAGIC used to be marks another major milestone for OFFPRICE. It’s rather timely when you consider OFFPRICE’s growth and stature in relation to the rest of the industry.”

Abbate has been the New Buyer Tour Guide at OFFPRICE since the August 2007 show. His experience both in retail and at the show has been an invaluable resource to new and repeat buyers trying to maximize opportunities on the 100,000+ square foot exhibition. And with an 8% increase in exhibitor space (1,150 Booths and counting), Abbate’s tours at the new venue will be more critical than ever for OFFPRICE buyers.

“There are new exhibitors, but there are also a lot of the old jobbers adding more booths to our new, more spacious venue,” asserts Lapidos. “They have expanded into new categories like accessories and are bringing more of their existing lines in anticipation of a great show. There will be a lot of excitement on both sides of the aisle, so David’s tour will feel like a safari!”

Because of the dramatic rise in boutique buyers coming to OFFPRICE, the show has added a second tour program on the first day of the show (Sunday, August 15th) specifically tailored to this segment. The 2 special tours will be lead by best-selling author and fashion retail expert T. J. Reid of Amite, Louisiana. Reid, who also publishes Fashion Advantage magazine, will take her groups to 10 of the best OFFPRICE vendors who cater to boutiques, as well as share tips on why she’s been coming to the show for more than 10 years. “Boutiques that are not shopping at OFFPRICE are really missing out on some terrific fashions that also happen to be margin-builders.”

Abbate agrees with Reid’s assessment of the wealth of opportunities in women’s trends at OFFPRICE. “Women’s and juniors are still hot out here. Ladies tops in particular are on fire, so look to see a lot of activity in this area at the show.”

In addition to the explosion in accessories and women’s, OFFPRICE is pleased to report more growth in footwear. Show management is also pleased to offer the following new amenities to better accommodate their enthusiastic buyer delegation:

•	3 Times More Vertical Aisles (compared to their old home downstairs at Hall G) to give buyers greater access to the deals.

•	FREE WI-FI at their OFFPRICE Café located in Booths #1845 – 2245 in the center of the show floor. The Café will also offer FREE WEB MARKETING ADVICE for retailers and merchants from NY & LA Design House Digital Marauders. The cutting-edge agency is displaying at OFFPRICE to develop new business for their street fashion clients in the off price market.

•	Department Store. Located at the front of the Show Floor, the Department Store will feature the hottest trends in a variety of categories that are available from different OFFPRICE exhibitors.

•	Happy Hour, Sunday, August 15th, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at FIRST located in The Shoppes on the 2nd Floor of The Palazzo.

3RD AIRCRAFT INTERIORS MIDDLE EAST SHOW CONFIRMED FOR 2012

Dubai, UAE. 21 July 2010 – Dubai Airshow organiser F&E Aerospace has confirmed that the third Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) show will take place in Dubai from 1 to 2 February 2012.

Michele Van Akelijen, Event Director at F&E Aerospace, said: “With the order books of the region’s carriers being transformed into actual aircraft deliveries over the next couple of years, procurement departments are finalising their preferences for cabin interiors, specifically seats, inflight entertainment and galley equipment.

“The third running of AIME, therefore, comes at the right time, assisting airlines in making smart decisions on their cabin interiors to ensure a better travel experience for their customers.”

Order books were rapidly filled up over the two days of the last AIME show in February 2010 at Dubai’s Airport Expo.
